The quest for truth must be relentless. Theories of truth in western philosophy should not prevent us from commiting ourselves to the truths we live by, said Professor Jonathan Dwight Culler , renowned theoretician of Cornell University in his inaugural address on the three day Singularities international conference on Truth at KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri. He also added that the pursuit of truth in both science and humanities is complicated considering the multiplicity of truths prevailing in and around us. Dr.C.Saidalavi, the principal presided over the event. Chief editor of Singularities Journal and Principal, DGMMES Mampad College, Dr.P.K.Babu delivered the chief editor’s note.Professor Culler released the conference issue, Vol 6 of Singularities, the transdisciplinary , peer reviewed biannual research journal, a compilation of selected papers presented at the conference. Other plemnaries of the day were by Professor A.F.Mathew ( IIM Calicut) and Kishor Kumar (writer and and LGBT Activist).Conference Coordinator and Assistant Professor, Ms.Reena CM delivered the welcome note and Ms.Sangeeta.K, Head of the PG Department of English rendered the vote of thanks on the inaugural day.
The keynote of the second day of the conference was by Dr.Abdul Mohammed Ali Jinnah of  Jamal Muhammad College, Thiruchirappalli who enlightened the audience on the ever changing dimensions on truth which often perplexes us on retrospection. Dr.Saji Mathew of School of Letters MG University delivered a session on Fake News and Social Media in the Post-truth world.Research scholars, teachers and students from various disciplines from different parts of India presented papers on both the days. Vibrant deliberations on truth promotes awareness on multiple perceptions which inculcate sense of tolerance to dissent which is inevitable for the healthy survival of democracy. The curtains came down to the event on 31 January with a panel discussion on spiritual, gender and literary perspectives on  truth by Dr.Rekharaj, Shoukath Sahajotsu, Dr.Diti Vyas and Sangeetha G Nair.
